About This Project

ISELIS Cantina Argiolas

Cantina Argiolas it is perhaps the most famous winery on the island, a true symbol embodying the spirit of Sardinia
The grapes from which the Iselis Rosso is made come from the homonymous estate, located in the countryside of Serdiana, characterized by calcareous soils of sedimentary origin: an optimal terroir to obtain wines with a good mineral concentration and, therefore, finesse and potential for evolution in years. After harvesting, carried out manually in the early hours of the morning, the grapes are pressed and sent to maceration-fermentation at a temperature of about 30 ° C for about ten days. In order to obtain a soft product of a certain nobility, the wine is then sent to malolactic fermentation – the one with which part of the stronger malic acid is transformed into lactic acid, so to speak sweeter and softer – in vitrified cocnreteo wine vessels and maturation in French oak barriques for twelve months.

TASTING NOTES

wine with a beautiful, intense and impenetrable ruby red color, a tone made more austere and elegant by a garnet nuance, almost pigeon blood, and which swirls in the glass with a good consistency. This aspect anticipates intense aromas of good complexity, reminiscent of cassis jam and withered red roses, fresh iris and cherries in spirits, sensations accompanied by those of spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon, almost aniseed suggestions. starry, and clearer tones of leather and sweet cigar tobacco.
